Astr Defence is an Indian Defence Deeptech company shaping the next generation of weapon systems and soldier-borne technologies.
We design, engineer, and manufacture everything in-house — from hard-kill Counter-UAV systems and AI-powered fire-control optics, to advanced firearms and smart ammunition.
Our mission is simple yet uncompromising: to build world-class weapon systems in India, for India, and for the world.

Our story
Astr Defence wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was forged in a college workshop — out of sparks, metal, and sheer conviction.
What began as the founder’s final-year project — the independent design and test-firing of the INDRA Modular Assault Rifle — became the spark that grew into Astr Defence. That single shot didn’t just echo across a firing range; it marked the company’s birth.
From a makeshift lab to an integrated R&D and manufacturing facility, the journey has been driven by one belief — that India can, and must, build world-class weapons by itself.
What began as a student’s project now stands as a full-stack R&D and manufacturing powerhouse, developing systems that even global giants haven’t dared to attempt.
Every product we build carries a first — India’s First Pistol, India’s first private-sector carbine, and now the World’s First long-range handheld hard-kill CUAS.
What started as a student’s experiment has become a national mission — an Indian company designing, prototyping, and manufacturing every system under one roof, across mechanical, electronic, optical, and AI disciplines.
